Learn how to start your own butterfly garden from the ground up. We will cover: how to identify and attract local butterflies, learn about the best plants suited to our area, specific nectar and larval host plants for butterflies in Florida.

Keri Byrum is the Assistant Director of Harry P. Leu Gardens. She has worked for UF/IFAS Extension in Orange County as well as the SeaWorld theme parks where she developed her knowledge of landscape maintenance, plant selection, and adding color to Florida landscapes. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and chemistry from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master’s degree from the University of Delaware and Longwood Gardens in Public Horticulture Administration.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.

Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.

Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
