Atlanta Wine Party - REVIEW

August 28, 2016

This past weekend Ash Said it had the pleasure of attending one of Atlanta's Premier Events – Atlanta Wine Party. I have attended in the past as a guest but this time around I got a media invite. Yes, we are moving on up in the world!

One key ingredient to any successful event is location. Securing Opera Nightclub in the heart of midtown was shear genius! From the high vaulted ceilings to the crystal chandeliers, its not a wonder why this is Atlanta's #1 hotspot.

I could hear DJ Qtip spinning from the parking lot. This was gonna be a great night. As I walked into the main hall an array of lights and music flowed throughout the room. I had my glass in hand and was ready to taste some wine.

Everything is well organized and broken down by rooms in the official Atlanta Wine Party booklet. With over 50 wines in 5 locations, I had a lot of ground to cover. I did not taste every wine. Why? Well I needed to be able to drive home safely. This booklet broke down the wines by name, growing region, variety and tasting note. That way people can have a general idea of what they would like to try.

My favorite location was the patio. On the heels of summer, with the sun glistening over the waterfall, it was a beautiful setting. Oh and the patio had some of my favorite wine varieties. My favorite would have to be the 14 Hands Moscato. It was flowery combination with an exotic fruit hint. I absolutely loved it.

Another favorite was the Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling. This blend was a more subtle fruit blend that was perfectly paired with Texas Potato Fries. These seasoned fries are the absolute best. I get them every time. Did I forget to mention the food? Opera Nightclub is an upscale elite venue so they only serve the best bites. I saw beef, hummus and even a cheese platter. All were available for purchase during the event.

All in all I had an amazing time at Atlanta Wine Party. I look forward to attending again in 2017. I want to give a special thank you to Mike DiLonardo ( Director of Operations), all the staff of ABF and Opera NightClub. This has become a staple event for ATLiens and will continue to be such in the future.
