Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery

The Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery is the ultimate getaway spot. I had the pleasure of visiting the resort this past weekend. I was elated when I realized that I gained an hour as signs informed us that we had entered Central Mountain Time.

Upon entering the compound we were warmly greeted by a hostess. This young woman was so helpful. She actually walked us to the main lobby. On our way there, my eyes were mesmerized by the BB King Blues Club and the Essentials gift shop. It was as if I had stepped into a magical dreamland and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

At the check-in counter, a young woman named Ashara did the honors of assigning a room. She then asked me what scent I would like for my toiletries. Really? I get a choice? Most hotels supply whatever generic brand soaps in the rooms for you. The fact that I had a choice was a pleasant surprise. These toiletries were bottled and marked exclusively for the Wind Creek Casino. I was impressed. Coco Mango won me over!

Attention to detail is very important for any hotel. The wrong element can make or break a patron's experience. The walls and carpeting share the essence of blue. Throughout the hallways and the elevators share this theme as well. Ever so often you run across a nostalgic painting that reminds you that you are officially on vacation.

So I don't have enough adjectives to describe how much I LOVED my room. It was styled in modern decor. I slept like a dream on that Dream Weaver mattress. My goodness. I've never been on a Dream Weaver bed before. It was fluffy and made me forget about my room at home. The pillows helped to put me on cloud nine.

The bathroom felt like I had stepped into another universe. The waist high mirror, dual lighting and full sink were breathtaking. I tip my hat to the design team. Honestly, I fell in LOVE with the rain shower shower head. I've seen a few in home decor magazines but not in person. It was incredible. There is absolutely nothing in this world like it. The room also included a 42 inch flat screen with impeccable clarity, a refrigerator hidden in plain sight and a complimentary in room safe.

This resort really does have it all. For men, there is a barbershop on site. They appreciate appointments but walk ins are always welcome. And for the ladies they offer salon services at the Salon at Wind Creek. Everything from hair services including styling can be accommodated. Nail services are also available. These cosmetologists are committed to making your stay the best yet.

There are three choices for your eating delights: Lucille's Eatery, Itta Bena and BB King's Blues Club. Lucille's Eatery is open 24/7 whether you'd like a burger or if you prefer something lighter like a salad. From A-Z there is something on the menu that you'll enjoy. Itta Bena is gourmet cuisine with a southern flare. This spot is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. They typically open at 5 pm and close by 10 pm.

Last but certainly not least BB King's Blues Club is the cornerstone of the compound. This outstanding restaurant serves up some of the best dishes including catfish bites and pork sliders. It touched my heart to know that they want to recognize the sacrifice of our military personnel. Active duty military get a free lunch at BB King's Blues Club or Lucille's Eatery Monday-Thurdsay 11am-2pm. Being a military veteran, I appreciated the complementary lunch. There is also a stage where different musical acts perform nightly. So you can visit for dinner and stay to watch a captivating show. Be sure to check the schedule daily to see who will liven up the night.

And then there was the casino. The floor remained packed throughout the day. People were in large groups and then you saw people to themselves enjoying their time. This floorplan mirrors a Vegas casino. So many games. So much time. I played for a bit but I also know my limit. And I know how to step away. They do have a promise for first time players. Should you lose $75-$1000 during your first 24 hours of play, you are reimbursed in free play. Fair enough. They don't offer that in Vegas!

Overall, I was astonished with my stay at the Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Montgomery. All of the staff that I encountered were full of joy and without a doubt went above and beyond. That is the product of a great work environment. Customer service should always be first and they exhibit just that. Management is doing a sensational job of keeping morale high. Keep up the good work. I cannot wait until my next adventure there!
