FOX Sports Southeast Announces Plans for Atlanta Hawks Opening Night on Thursday, October 27


Hawks Tip Off 2016-17 Regular Season at Home versus the Washington Wizards

Expanded Coverage Includes One-Hour Hawks LIVE! Pregame Show on FOX Sports Southeast and FOX Sports GO

ATLANTA (October 26, 2016) – FOX Sports Southeast announced plans today for its opening telecast of the Atlanta Hawks 2016-17 regular season.

The Hawks’ first game on FOX Sports Southeast is a home match-up versus the Washington Wizards on Thursday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Bob Rathbun (@BobRathbunTV) will handle the play-by-play, alongside analyst Dominique Wilkins (@DWilkins21) and courtside reporter Andre Aldridge (@Voceroy).

Expanded coverage on FOX Sports Southeast begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with a special one-hour edition of Hawks LIVE! pregame. Hosted by Jerome Jurenovich (@JeromeOnSports) and Mike “Stinger” Glenn from Philips Arena, the show will feature:

  • An interview with Hawks CEO Steve Koonin.

  • Analysis of team’s key roster changes and Dwight Howard’s return to Atlanta.

  • An examination of the culture that coach Mike Budenholzer is building within the Hawks organization.

The network’s opening night coverage will conclude with Hawks LIVE! immediately following the game.

Hawks telecasts on FOX Sports Southeast will also be available on FOX Sports GO (FOXSportsGo.com), a free app that provides live streaming video of Hawks games and other FOX Sports programming through select programming distributers. In addition, Grammy Award-winning rapper -- and Hawks fan -- Tip “T.I.” Harris will be featured in a campaign promoting Hawks basketball on FOX Sports GO as well as related digital content. The campaign will debut Thursday, October 27, on FOX Sports Southeast during the opening night telecast and also on Twitter @HawksOnFSSE. FOX Sports Fan Express will return for a fourth consecutive season to transport fans in style to Philips Arena; this year’s design will feature billboard-sized images of Hawks players Kent Bazemore, Dwight Howard and Dennis Schröder. For opening night, special guests aboard Fan Express will include students and teachers from Atlanta’s Love T. Nolan Elementary School.

FOX Sports Southeast will televise 77 Hawks regular season games this season and will reach more than 6 million households across five states, including Georgia and parts of Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina.
