Ash Brown attends Pink Carpet Premiere of Hidden Figures

The ladies of the Upsilon Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated hosted a screening of Hidden Figures in Duluth, Ga. This chapter is always visible in Gwinnett County doing service events.

I had the honor of attending this pristine event at Studio Movie Grill. There was pink and green everywhere. Their hospitality department did an amazing job with the decorations in the lobby. There were several photo areas in which patrons could take selfies and be shot by a professional photographer.

Being on the VIP list does have its perks. I got an exclusive box of goodies from the ladies. The box included a zip drive, phone stand and a delicious cupcake.

The movie started on time. I love it when an event can start on time. While I was confused on how this story had never been told before now, I was proud that it was out for the world to see. It will truly touch your heart and soul. They were women with extraordinary talents. I cannot imagine where we would be if they had not taken the risks that they did.

Three educated black women had a hand in creating US history. Its a bonus that they were members of an NPHC organization. This is a movie for the entire family.

Kudos to the ladies of Upsilon Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Thank you for the work that you do and keep it up in 2017!
