Atlanta Dream to Play Preseason Game Friday at Minnesota


The Dream will play their lone preseason warmup against the Lynx Friday night

ATLANTA (May 4, 2017) – The Atlanta Dream opens the 2017 season with a preseason game Friday night at the Minnesota Lynx. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. ET at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Minn.

This will be the Dream’s lone exhibition game prior to the WNBA Tip-Off presented by Verizon on May 13 at Connecticut.

Current 2017 Atlanta Dream Roster

The Dream have a total of eight players in or reporting to training camp that finished the 2016 season on the active roster, including top-returning scorer Tiffany Hayes, 2016 Most Improved Player Elizabeth Williams, Layshia Clarendon, Sancho Lyttle, Matee Ajavon, Bria Holmes, Rachel Hollivay and Meighan Simmons. Damiris Dantas, who sat out the 2016 season to play for Team Brazil, will return to the team after the preseason game.

Perennial All-Star Angel McCoughtry will not report to training camp after announcing she will take time off during the 2017 season.

Atlanta has eight newcomers in camp, including all three 2017 WNBA Draft picks and the reacquired Aneika Morello, who came back to the Dream in an offseason trade.

Kiesel Joins Active Roster

Brianna Kiesel, who signed a multi-year free agent contract to play for the Dream this offseason, has joined the active roster after returning from playing with CMB Cargo Uni Gyor in Hungary this offseason.

Dream Waive Two

The Atlanta Dream announced they have waived center Markeisha Gatling and guard Jordan Reynolds.

The Dream home opener is scheduled for Sunday, May 21 against the visiting Chicago Sky. Season and group tickets are available now. Single-game tickets go on sale April 2. For more information, visitatlantadream.net or call 877.977.7729.

The Atlanta Dream, who is celebrating its 10th season in the WNBA in 2017, will play its home games in McCamish Pavilion on the Georgia Tech campus. Atlanta has qualified for the playoffs seven times, winning conference titles in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
