ATLANTA (June 8, 2017) — The Atlanta Dream has announced that it has sent the rights to a second-round pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft to the Connecticut Sun in exchange for fourth-year forward Jordan Hooper.

Hooper, who was the 13th overall pick in the second round of the 2014 WNBA Draft, averaged 3.7 points and 1.2 rebounds while playing 9.1 minutes per game last season with the Dallas Wings. She was signed off waivers by the Sun earlier this year.

“The trade for Hooper will provide us another three-point shooter that we can really use,” head coach Michael Cooper said. “She is a seasoned player, who has been in this league a couple of years. Hooper will not only make our team better on the floor but she will make an impact in the Atlanta community.”

The 6-2 forward was the 2014 Big Ten Player of the Year and appeared in 100 games for the Tulsa Shock/Dallas Wings, the team that drafted her, in her first three years in the league. Hooper stayed with the Shock during their move to Dallas before being waived earlier this year.

Hooper will join the team as veteran forward Sancho Lyttle has been temporarily suspended after leaving the team to play for Spain in the upcoming FIBA EuroBasket tournament. Lyttle will return to the Dream later this month.

The Atlanta Dream return to action Saturday, June 10 at Connecticut beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the game on WNBA League Pass.
