Mitsubishi Outlander 2018 ***REVIEW

Winter in Atlanta is unpredictable. It can be 70 degrees one day and freezing the next. You never know what to expect. The Mitsubishi Outlander helped me stay warm while I cruised in and out the city. This vehicle helped me adapt to the bitterly cold weather we were experiencing in Georgia.

With frigid temps looming in the mornings, several heating mechanisms made the drive comfortable. The first feature that I wasn't expecting was just at my fingertips. This SUV is equipped with a steering wheel warmer. While headed to the state capital, I didn't need gloves to keep my hands cozy. Mild heat from the steering wheel put my hands at ease. And it has an automatic shut off so no need to worry about turning it off.

Seat warmers had me feeling blissful while riding in extravagance. The plush leather seats were so pleasant and made my 2 hour commute less hectic. Yes, I was in traffic but it was an enjoyable journey due to these features.

I was blown away by the safety functions. I believe that I am a cautious driver. However the Mitsubishi Outlander pointed out a few flaws in my driving. At first, I was alarmed when notifications kept going off. There were no other cars on the road with me. What's wrong with this car? When I got to my destination, I read up on the LDW light that kept going off. The Lane Departure Warning detects when you've left your lane. So when I was too far over on the solid line, I was immediately alerted.

The car also lets you know when opposing vehicles come too close to you. Especially in a blind spot. It made me more aware of my actions and to expect the unexpected from other drivers. At first, the beeps were annoying because I did not understand what was going on. After a while, they became a reminder to remain vigilant.

The wide angle shot and birds-eye view composite made going into reverse a breeze. Never before have I had such a clear view of surrounding areas. The rear cross alert kept me on my toes with good reason. This intellegence alarms the driver of other cars, objects or people that are in close vicinity of where you are going. It even covers blind spots that you may not see.

One afternoon, I nearly hit a dog. I looked very carefully in my mirrors and cameras as I was backing out. I saw nothing. Before I knew it, the alert went off and I used the brake immediately. It stunned me really bad. Then a young lady frantically ran towards the rear screaming something. I put the car in park and got out. Her puppy had pounced behind me and I had no indication outside of that alert. Thank God he wasn't hurt.

This automobile is the perfect addition for a family with multiple children. It can comfortably seat seven people. With third row seats, taking your kids and their friends to the movies is a no brainer. The cargo space is out of this world too. The seats easily fold under, making room for luggage and large items.

The liftgate was another feature that made me smile from ear to ear. When leaving the grocery store, I didn't have to lift a finger. With the push of a button the liftgate effortlessly opened. This was way better than a genie in a bottle. I loaded in my groceries, pushed the button again and it closed the door. By the time I put my cart back, everything locked up tight.

My overall impression of this vehicle is that this is a perfect family car. With its V6 engine, it drinks up a significant amount of fuel in comparison to my sedan. But that comes with the territory. A larger vehicle will consume more. Thats a given.

I was astounded by the multitude of safety features. Mitsubishi is dedicated to keeping drivers on the road safe. That means alot to me and that is why the Mitsubishi Outlander 2018 gets the #ashsaidit stamp of approval. Its a smooth ride, keeps drivers comfortable in extreme weather and has safety precautions to keep all drivers secure. Those are key factors that everyone should consider when in the market for a new car.
