PeachDish Meal Kit ***REVIEW

Root Vegetable Stir-Fry with Brown Basmati Rice & Benne Seed

PeachDish is a meal kit company that brings everything but the table. Their meal kits provide ingredients, spices and condiments for full course meals. Everything down to the salt needed for flavoring is included in each box. You no longer have to skip making your favorite dishes because you don't have all the things you need. Everything, except cookware, is at your fingertips.

My box included SuperFood Veggie Calzone with Spiced Dipping Sauce, Root Vegetable Stir-Fry with Brown Basmati Rice & Benne Seed and Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding. All three kits were a hit! I do not enjoy being in the kitchen for more than an hour preparing food. These meals can be prepared and ready to eat within the hour.

The superfood calzone seemed a little intimidating at first. I've never made a calzone in my life. I also had never heard of tempeh. It is a hearty protein made from fermented soybeans. It was interesting taking it out the package. To my surprise, after it was cooked, I loved it. The recipe was easy to follow with photo illustrations. My calzone did not turn out looking like the photos but it was delicious. I will certainly keep this dish in mind for the future.

On the second day, I decided to explore with the root vegetable stir-fry. I stir fry regularly, so this was going to be a blast. I was introduced to turnips. I've seen it in stores but never cooked with it. This would be fun. Again, I followed the side by side recipe. The aromas had my kitchen smelling heavenly. But most of all the sauce brought it to life. Chinese Southern Belle's 'You Saucy Thing' stir fry blend is the best on the market! It has No MSG, cheap fillers or high fructose corn syrup. Its made fresh and are based in Georgia.

Last but certainly not least, it was time for dessert. I am a bread pudding connoisseur. When I hear bread pudding, my ears perk up. This chocolate croissant bread pudding sounded like a dream. And oh was it! This kit included butter for the pan, heavy whipping cream, chocolate croissants and even eggs. Yes eggs. They were secured delicately in bubble wrap. Every single thing that I need for this sweet confection was at arms length. Not once did I have to go into my own pantry for anything. The recipe was straightforward. The bread pudding didn't see the end of the night. Everyone was asking for more!

There are many meal kit companies but I can only vouch for one. PeachDish is the cream of the crop. You don't have to commit to a subscription either. If you want to try them out for one week, you're welcome to do so. They source from local farmers, change menus weekly and you may even be introduced to something new like I was.
