Atlanta Dream Return to Action Sunday vs Phoenix

Tiffany Hayes averaging 17.5 points per game for the Dream

ATLANTA – That Atlanta Dream return to action this Sunday, June 3 at McCamish Pavilion to face the Phoenix Mercury beginning at 3 p.m. The mid-afternoon matchup will air on FOX Sports Southeast.

Game Notes – Dream vs Mercury

The Dream (2-2) are coming off an impressive come-from-behind, 76-74, victory over the reigning WNBA Champion Minnesota Lynx. Tiffany Hayes led the team with 20 points and Angel McCoughtry added 18, including the game-winning three-point shot with 01.5 left on the clock.

Phoenix (2-3) are in the middle of a three-game road trip, which begins tonight at Minnesota. Phoenix has won three of the last four meetings with the Dream, though Atlanta picked off the Mercury in overtime, 99-91, in the only matchup in McCamish Pavilion last season.

  • Tiffany Hayes is closing in on 2,500 career points. The seventh-year guard has 2,451 in her career and is averaging 17.5 points per game.

  • Guard Renee Montgomery is also chasing a few milestone numbers. Now in her 10th season in the WNBA, Montgomery has 2,897 career points, 940 assists and 394 three-point field goals made.

  • We are only four games in but the Dream have shown a knack for taking away the ball from opponents in 2018. As a team, Atlanta leads the league with 10.8 steals per game and Jessica Breland and Angel McCoughtry are tied for the league lead with 2.3 steals per game apiece.
