Atlanta Food And Wine Festival 2018

Ash Said It Attends Atlanta Food and Wine Festival 2018

The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is quite an experience. This annual tradition brings people from all over. This year I met people from Alaska, Kentucky and Colorado. With so much craziness in the world, it was refreshing to pause and enjoy the beauty of life. This was the best way to kick off summer!

As selected members of the press, we were invited to 'Last Hour'. During the final hour of prep, specific outlets gained access to the coveted Connoisseur Lounge. While here we enjoyed a little morning bubbly, a delicious egg biscuit from Porter Road and a preview of the space. Most everyone knew each other. Those that were not familiar quickly got acquainted.

Lunch on the Loews Terrace was fantastical! The DJ was playing hits, food was on point and the sun was actually out. The 'Yankee Cornbread Ice Cream Sammie' was a surprising delight. The ice cream reminded me of grain nut ice cream. I know that it wasn't because of the berry influence. The cookie that sandwiched it was remarkable. I've never had anything like it. It was like a cookie but the flavor of a scone. I could not put my finger on it but I was instantly in LOVE. Special shout to Life Raft Treats for this remarkable creation.

Edwin + Sons had some treats that could easily sneak up on you. Their cocktails in a jar were small but packed a big punch. I tried the Little Cosmo and soon had to sit down. I didn't think that I would be affected by a sample. I was wrong. The flavors were enchanting. Before I knew it, my cup was empty and I was sitting on a couch with complete strangers. And we were in deep conversation.

The Lime & Basil Tart stole my heart. This cute little sliver of heaven was light but flavorful. I would have never paired watermelon with anything much less a tart. This harmonious blend with mint and basil were incredible. And it wasn't too sweet. It was just the right amount. I could not get enough.

If you haven't made it out to Piedmont Park for the 8th Annual Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, you are wasting valuable time. You still have two days to indulge on great food and exceptional libations. Visit www.atlfoodandwinefestival.com for details.
