In honor of today, National Mac and Cheese Day, I've decided to share my favorite recipe. You all know that I love keeping things simple. This one is no different. It will make the easiest dish ever while leaving room to improvise. Check out the details below:
Ash Said MAC That Cheese!
1 box noodles
1/4 cup butter
1/2 tbsp salt
1 dash cayenne pepper
2 cups whole milk
2 cups shredded cheese blend
Bring a medium size pot of water to a boil. Cook noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, 7 minutes. Then drain.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; stir in salt and cayenne pepper until smooth, about 4 minutes. Slowly pour milk into butter mixture while continuously stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbling, about 5 minutes. Add cheese blend to milk mixture and stir until cheese is melted.
Fold cooked noodles into cheese sauce until fully coated.
