ATLANTA: After an extensive renovation, acclaimed restaurant Sear has re-opened its doors to hungry travelers and Atlantans alike. The in-house restaurant located conveniently in the iconic downtown Atlanta Marriott Marquis underwent a massive interior design and menu refresh, to increase restaurant traffic and draw visitors and locals to the emerging downtown Atlanta area. “We’re thrilled with the results of the renovation,” said General Manager Erica Qualls-Battey. “The attention to detail and uniqueness of the space will truly change the landscape of Downtown’s dining scene. We’ve created a destination within a destination, where diners can get a delicious meal and be conveniently located in the heart of Atlanta.” Interior designer, HeCho, Inc. and the Marriott team have worked tirelessly to create a dining atmosphere inspired by the style of legendary Atlanta Marriott Marquis architect John Portman, mixing modern design with an open-kitchen concept, and giving guests a destination fit for celebrations, meetings or casual bites. From rich woods and industrial-style beams to one-of-a-kind artwork commissioned by Atlanta-area artist Lynx Nguyen, Sear has a distinguished look that feels both rustic and modern at the same time. “Within the Downtown area, I have yet to see anything come close to the caliber of design that we have here at Sear,” said Director of Restaurants, Reggie Jack. “From the design to the food, it is all truly a work of art.” The new dining area includes an open floor plan, a spacious waiting area with comfortable lounges, a bourbon bar focused on craft cocktails, and several private dining options. The private dining rooms are a perfect place for local businesses to hold private meetings while still experiencing everything Sear has to offer, and options range from space for intimate board meetings to space for 85 seated guests or reception of 100 guests.

The standout space at Sear has a re-envisioned menu to complement it, led by the culinary talents of Executive Chef Renato Gerena, who has over 21 years of experience with Marriott. Along with dishes such as Butter Basted Cauliflower Steak, Braised Pork Chops, Dry-aged Steak and Seared Scallops, Sear will carry over 25 bourbons, hand-crafted cocktails and a variety of wines. Sear is dedicated to providing its patrons with the freshest local and seasonal ingredients from a variety of farms throughout the metro Atlanta area, including Banner Butter, Joyce Farms, and Thompson Farms. Patrons can expect the menu to rotate seasonally. “Working on this menu has been really fun,” said Chef Gerena. “We’ve been able to develop such special and unique relationships with many of Georgia’s top farmers and food artisans, and that’s reflected in our menu. We’re really excited about what we have in store for everyone, and hope the patrons enjoy eating our dishes as much as we’ve enjoyed creating them.”
