Event Recap - Devon Gilfillian Private Performance at FRYE Atlanta

The FRYEDAYS™ music series, hosted by The FRYE Company, descended upon its popular Ponce City Market location in Atlanta, Georgia for an exclusive in-store performance with Nashville-based artist Devon Gilfillian on Thursday, May 2nd. While taking in the electrifying singer-songwriter's signature sound, guests were treated to hand-crafted Bulleit cocktails, Wild Heaven Beer and were the first to shop new arrivals from FRYE’s Spring/Summer collection.

Quietly earning a cult following with unforgettable intimate performances at FRYE locations across the country, Devon Gilfillian is the latest to join a star-studded list of FRYEDAYS musical guests including Margo Price, Brent Cobb, Langhorne Slim, Brothers Osborne, Shakey Graves, The Lone Bellow, and Lucie Silvas. Devon was recently featured in FRYE’s Spring '19 campaign: The Original. The Authentic. The Only. His classic, soulful sound made him a natural partner for the storied brand.

Just for the evening, Bulleit served up band-themed cocktails inspired by Devon’s songs: The Bulleit High Rye ’N Dry - a delicious mix of Bulleit Rye, apple butter syrup, Topo Chico, yogurt and bubble tea pearls; and The Truth, a mix of Bulleit Bourbon, vanilla honey, fresh grapefruit and pomegranate; and the Bulleit & Beer Troublemaker featuring Bulleit Bourbon or Bulleit Rye and Wild Heaven Beer.

ABOUT THE FRYE COMPANY:

In 1863, John A. Frye opened the doors to his very first store, paving the way for countless generations of artisans. As the original craftsmen of American footwear, Frye continues to honor a passion for creating iconic styles using the finest leathers.

Rooted in tradition, Frye was originally inspired by our everyday American heroes over the decades. Cavalry infantrymen. World War II soldiers. Fighter pilots. Factory workers. Word of Frye’s uncompromising quality and reputation spread. Frye has since become an American icon, worn by the courageous and the cool, from John Lennon to Jackie O.

About Devon Gilfillian:

Devon Gilfillian fires twin barrels of gospel-blues and southern soul on his debut EP. Fueled by groove, guitar, and the powerful punch of Gilfillian's voice, the songs shine a light on a young songwriter who grew up outside of Philadelphia, absorbing everything from the R&B swagger of Al Green and Ray Charles to the rock & roll heroics of Jimi Hendrix. Now based in Nashville, Gilfillian puts a personalized stamp on those childhood influences, rolling them into five original songs that showcase not only his songwriting and singing, but also his talent as an instrumentalist.
