Up for a Challenge? We’ll pay you $1K to ditch Starbucks

Up for a Challenge? We’ll pay you $1K to ditch Starbucks

Applications for the challenge are open now through September 30, 2019.

Salt Lake City, UT — Business.org is looking for one self-professed Starbucks addict to ditch the corporate coffee joint for a whole month and opt for local shops instead. The company will pay this person $1,000 in exchange for their efforts to support local coffee shops in their city for the full 30-day period. All Business.org asks in return is that this person frequent only locally owned coffee shops for a full month and document their experience along the way. This initiative is part of our Shop Local campaign where Business.org will pay three people to support local businesses while they drink coffee, shop for the holidays, or eat pizza.

A whopping 82% of businesses that fail cite a lack of cash flow as the main reason they were unsuccessful. If the cash isn’t coming in, they simply can’t keep their doors open. That’s why the small-business advocates at Business.org want to encourage more Americans to frequent local businesses. The company’s goal is to bring attention to the benefits of supporting local shops by hiring someone to ditch Starbucks and replace it with locally owned coffee shops for a whole month.

“Our team is comprised of small-business enthusiasts who are committed to supporting entrepreneurs. That’s why we decided to create the Business.org Pays You to Shop Local campaign to raise awareness for the importance of supporting local businesses. The first initiative in our campaign is set on finding someone who we’ll pay $1,000 to ditch Starbucks for a whole month and support local coffee shops in their community instead. The goals of this initiative are to inspire more people to opt for local coffee and gather firsthand insight into the differences between corporate coffee joints and smaller shops,” says Micah Pratt, manager of Business.org

Applications for our first Shop Local initiative are open now through September 30, 2019. Our ideal candidate is a corporate coffee regular who is ready to give up their Starbucks fix for locally owned coffee brews. Candidates can make their job application stand out by sending us a video professing their love for coffee and why they’re ready to take on this challenge. Keep an eye out for our upcoming initiatives this fall from our Business.org Pays You to Shop Local campaign.
