Celebrate New Year’s Eve and Day Parties, Festive Dinners and Special Hours

ATLANTA – There’s no need to break out the Champagne at home when Atlanta’s top restaurants have planned special New Year’s celebrations. Restaurants all over the city invite guests to celebrate with New Year’s Eve dinners, promotions and parties, and many restaurants are open on New Year’s Day to start the year off with a bang.

Midtown / Westside

Usher in the new year in style at 5Church Atlanta. The Midtown hotspot is set to host Unlock 2020 with two ways to celebrate. Guests can choose a dinner option, which includes an intimate premium buffet from award-winning chef Delroy Bowen with multiple carving stations, a seafood bar and dessert bar on the first floor of 5Church and a half bottle of Champagne for every two people. Cost is based on arrival time: $75 for arrival between 5-7 p.m., $85 for arrival between 7-8 p.m. and $95 for arrival between 8-10 p.m. Guests are invited to join the Unlock 2020 party upstairs on the second floor for a $50 per-person upgrade. The main event -- Unlock 2020 -- features an Upstairs Roof Party from 9:30 p.m.-2:30 a.m. in a private second floor room with a covered and heated patio boasting sweeping Midtown views. Those partying in Midtown or heading to see Widespread Panic at The Fox Theatre can duck into Edgar’s Proof & Provision in The Georgian Terrace Hotel. Do as the Romans do and celebrate with an Italian New Year’s Party at Forza Storico. From 5-9 p.m., the Roman dining concept located in Atlanta’s Westside Provisions District, serves dinner from its regular menu and half-priced bottles of wine. The last seating is at 9 p.m. The party gets started at 10 p.m. and runs until 2 a.m. with an open bar with wine, signature cocktails and craft Italian beers, complimentary bar food and a DJ. Livingston Restaurant + Bar is offering a three-course menu on New Year’s Eve for $70 (does not include tax or gratuity). The evening begins with a complimentary glass of bubbly followed by a menu that includes first course options of risotto, roasted butternut squash soup, grilled baby romaine salad or hydroponic bibb salad. The second course follows with choice of pan-seared chicken, lobster butter-poached halibut, vegetable ragout, filet mignon or osso buco. At The Federal, guests can celebrate with three seatings on New Year’s Eve: 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. The restaurant offers a four-course prix fixe menu at all seatings along with an à la carte menu of its bistro and steakhouse classics during the first two seatings (6 p.m. and 8 p.m.). Options on the four-course menu include crispy Sardinian flatbread with Iberian lardo, blue crab cake, pappardelle with wild boar Bolognese, oxtail French onion soup, a 16-ounce dry-aged Kansas City strip, and diver scallops with black truffle risotto. Dessert boasts a choice of sticky toffee pudding, homemade Kit Kat, chocolate cheesecake, green apple tart or coconut cake. Virginia-Highland / East Atlanta / Decatur

Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar in Virginia-Highland has a special à la carte New Year’s Eve dinner menu and countdown party with Champagne toast at midnight on Dec. 31. On Jan. 1 starting at 11 a.m., enjoy the full brunch menu along with Atkins Park’s traditional Southern New Year’s Day offering of braised pork, hoppin’ John, collard greens and cornbread. 404-876-7249; atkinspark.com.

Travel back to the 1920s with a roaring 20s cocktail party and dinner at Cold Beer. The restaurant will serve a four course dinner for $110 per person during two seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. An additional beverage pairing is available for $50. The New Year’s Eve Roaring 20s Cocktail Party starts at 9:30 p.m. and includes drink tickets, a raw bar and passed hors d’oeuvre, live big band music and a Champagne toast, all for $100. Ring in the new year at Gunshow with a very special package to mark the occasion. Indulge in a 10-course dinner (great for sharing), one glass of bubbly per person and an autographed menu for $125 per person. An expanded cocktail and bubbles menu also will be available in addition to the regular cocktail menu. Seatings are at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and are expected to sell out. Celebrate the new year and National Bloody Mary Day at Murphy’s on Jan. 1. The Virginia-Highland mainstay will be open for brunch from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and serving favorites including corned beef hash, hazelnut-crusted French toast, Eggs T. Kevin Gillespie’s creative Southern restaurant Revival in Decatur hosts a four-course New Year’s Eve meal for $75 per person. Buckhead

Chido & Padre's in Buckhead will host a New Year's Eve party with chef specials and its regular menu of fresh, coastal cuisine from Baja Mexico, party favors and Champagne toast at midnight. Welcome the new year with Spanish flair at Gypsy Kitchen in The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. The restaurant will be open from 4 p.m.-2 a.m., serving an a la carte menu of tapas and meals to share with a Champagne toast at midnight. Menu highlights include lobster tortilla espanola, seared scallops, foie gras crème brûlée, seafood paella and 32-ounce bone-in New York strip. Himitsu, the “by reservation only” Japanese craft cocktail lounge in Buckhead, roars into 2020 with a 20s themed Prohibition party with music by DJ London and a bottle of Dom P2, the newly released ultra-premium Champagne from Dom Perignon. Cost is $300 per couple with one bottle of Dom P2, $400 per couple with one bottle of Dom P2 and partial seating, and $500 per couple with one bottle of Dom P2 and guaranteed seating. The Southern Gentleman in The Shops Buckhead Atlanta is serving a four-course prix fixe menu with a Champagne toast at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Menu option highlights include foie gras, bison oxtail hand pies, crab Louie, wagyu beef short ribs, blackened red snapper and double chocolate chess pie. Cost is $75 per person. The Atlanta gastropub welcomes guests back on New Year’s Day for brunch fare including gumbo, seasonal vegetable frittata, shrimp and grits and a pimento cheese omelet. Drink and dance into 2020 at The Blind Pig Parlour Bar. The 1920s-inspired speakeasy is hosting an intimate New Year’s Eve celebration with a limited number of all-inclusive tickets for $120 that include open bar, party favors, hors d’oeuvre and Champagne toast at midnight. Multiple Locations

All three HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern locations (Brookhaven, Midtown and Perimeter) are hosting New Year’s Eve parties. At the Midtown location (404-968-2288), the New Year’s Eve party starts at 9 p.m. Live music from James Patrick Morgan sets the tone for bottomless beer and Champagne and all-you-can-eat pizza from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. A balloon drop and party favors also are included in the party, all for $49 per person. At the Brookhaven (404-464-8971) and Perimeter (470-395-7904) locations, a DJ will start spinning at 9 p.m., followed by a balloon drop, Champagne toast and bottle specials. Unwind at the beach on New Year’s Eve at The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill. Both the Buckhead and Canton Street locations will be open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. serving regular menus plus chef features. Specials include wagyu filet mignon with shallot-red wine jus, glazed bok choy and celeriac mousse for $30 and wild mushroom risotto with truffle crème, fregola and curry for $22. Outside the Perimeter

Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar highlights its fresh, sustainable seafood in a four-course Roaring Twenties New Year’s Eve Dinner for $79 per person (plus tax and gratuity) with wine pairings for an additional $29. Dinner features a choice of appetizers such as iced oysters on the half shell, wood-fired oyster Rockefeller, hamachi pastrami crudo, Ellijay apple Waldorf salad, she-crab bisque and shrimp fritters. Choose from entrées such as Atlantic grouper, skate wing, sea scallops, roasted red snapper and braised beef short ribs. Tap into the New Year at Jekyll Brewing. Beer lovers can start the celebration at the Alpharetta brewery’s Marconi location, which will be open from 5-9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Instead of driving to Atlanta to celebrate, head over to Jekyll Brewing’s newly opened City Center location for low country-inspired food, drinks and live music starting at 8 p.m. The City Center location also will be open normal hours on New Year’s Day for college football viewing and a little hair of the dog if needed. Score low-and-slow barbecue and college bowl game viewing at Loyal Q and Brew. Popular seed-to-fork restaurant Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails in historic Crabapple will be open from 5-10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, offering a special three-course menu to celebrate the new year. The price is $75 per person and includes menu choices such as crispy salt and vinegar calamari, spinach and warm brie salad, potato- and herb-crusted grouper, spiced-and-smoked duck breast, root beer-braised boneless beef short ribs or blackened diver scallops. For the best of land and sea, Alpharetta revelers can sail into Ocean & Acre in Halcyon for the restaurant’s regular menu and a selection of chef features including tuna tartare with Taggiasca olives, capers, Meyer lemon and smoked trout roe ($25); foie gras torchon with sea salt, pistachio, fig compote and vincotto ($25); pappardelle with wild mushrooms, white sauce and tartuffa ($25); and six-ounce wagyu filet with fonduta, glaze cipollini, mushroom, pancetta and brasato sauce ($50). Seed Kitchen & Bar in Marietta hosts a special four-course menu for $79 per person, plus tax and gratuity, on New Year’s Eve. A first course features pimiento cheese tartlet and Benton’s ham. The rest of the courses include selections such as parsnip Granny Smith apple bisque, seared foie gras, chicken fried sweetbreads, curry-spiced ahi tuna, bone-in White Marble Farm’s pork schnitzel or Thai curry veal shank. Stem Wine Bar, the chef-driven neighborhood wine bar, hosts an all-inclusive, five-course wine dinner with wines from Cakebread Cellars and Schramsberg Vineyards.
