Barrett-Jackson Will Roll Out the Red Carpet with Vehicles Owned by Celebrities, Including Simon Cow


The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, will roll out the red-carpet when celebrity-owned collector vehicles cross the block during the 49th Annual Scottsdale Auction, January 11-19, 2020. From Hollywood actors and business tycoons to a best-selling author and rock-and-roll legend, the Scottsdale Auction will give guests the chance to bid on a vehicle owned by world-famous stars.

“Barrett-Jackson is proud to offer one of our most diverse dockets of celebrity-owned vehicles during our 2020 Scottsdale Auction,” said Craig Jackson chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Vehicles that have been owned by renowned actors, musicians and authors, as well as some of the most talented professional athletes, are destined to bring some real star power to our auction block. From the prominent collection of the late actor Paul Walker, special-order vehicles owned by all-star athletes and two vehicles from the personal collection of international TV personality Simon Cowell, our Scottsdale Auction will give you the chance to take home the ultimate celebrity souvenir.”

Owned by record producer, talent scout and judge on TV’s “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent,” two vehicles owned by Simon Cowell will cross the block in Scottsdale. Lot #1301.2 is a beautiful, triple-black 2009 Bentley Azure Convertible that has only 1,759 actual miles. Also being auctioned from Cowell’s personal collection is this triple-black 1977 Ford Bronco custom SUV (Lot #1025.3), which is powered by a Ford small-block V8 engine with an automatic transmission.

The drummer in the rock band Blink-182, Travis Barker, is selling three vehicles from his personal collection, including a 1960 Cadillac Coupe de Ville Custom Hardtop (Lot #791.2). This custom Caddy features a chopped roof, shaved door handles and is powered by a 454ci V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission. Lot #791.1 is Barker’s custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer that features a new LS3 V8 engine and an automatic transmission with only 1,962 miles since its restoration. Lot #791 is a highly original 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe convertible powered by its original 5.7-liter V8 engine. This Series 62 features the original red leather interior, red carpeting and Lancaster Gray paint.

“These star-powered collector vehicles that will cross the block in Scottsdale are as diverse as the celebrities themselves,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “From fantastically customized hot rods to the Grateful Dead’s original 1949 Studebaker M5 equipment truck (Lot #1619), these celebrity affiliated vehicles become a part of the pop culture themselves, making them desirable collector items to the die-hard fans and a great conversation piece.

Former Denver Broncos quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion John Elway will auction his 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadster (Lot #1025). One of only 250 Dodge Vipers made in 1992, this supercar has only 7,935 actual miles. Former New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera’s 2020 Toyota Supra (Lot #1076) will also cross the block in Scottsdale. Number 42 of 1,500 Launch Edition Supras produced, this model was made specifically for the MLB Hall of Famer and has only 16 actual miles.

Other celebrity vehicles making their appearance on the Scottsdale Auction block include:

  • Dean Martin’s 1980 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible (Lot #1599) - Documents include warranty in Dean Martin's name, original registration to Dean Martin and Dean Martin-customized California plates: "Dinos RR.”

  • American business mogul Howard Hughes’ 1954 Chrysler New Yorker (Lot #1434) - Custom-fitted with an elaborate air purification system in the trunk, this Chrysler has only 1,685 original miles and remains in near-showroom-new condition

  • American car restorer and TV personality Wayne Carini’s 1930 Ford Model A Custom Coupe (Lot #1380) – This custom was built by Cal Creationist Andy Leach and was named to the 2017 Autorama Great 8

  • TV personality Chris Jacob’s 1968 Plymouth GTX custom coupe (Lot #3000) – Featuring a custom paint scheme by Chip Foose, 100 percent of the hammer price will benefit the C4 Foundation

  • Rev. Billy Graham’s 1966 Rolls-Royce Phantom V limousine (Lot #1145) - Coachwork is by H.J. Mulliner & Co., and the car is equipped with air conditioning and a rear divider window

  • American novelist Clive Cussler’s 1960 Pontiac Bonneville convertible (Lot #560.2) - This car was part of Cussler's collection and has been on display in Colorado and in a car museum in Minnesota

  • Music legend Johnny Cash’s 2001 Lincoln Town Car Cartier L (Lot #431) – Finished in black for the “Man in Black,” this Town Car has 29,000 actual miles

  • World Series Champion Madison Bumgarner’s 2018 Ford Shelby GT350 (Lot #1438) - Custom-built for four-time All Star, three-time World Series Champion and World Series MVP. Powered by a Whipple supercharged 5.2-liter V8 Voodoo engine

  • MLB All-Star Billy “The Kid” Wagner’s 1968 Ford GT500 Eleanor Tribute Edition (Lot #1098) - Commissioned by Wagner in 2005 and powered by a 427ci V8 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission

  • MLB third baseman Evan Longoria’s 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Custom Coupe (Lot #819) - Powered by a 750hp Whipple-supercharged LS1 V8 engine mated to a T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission
