Nonprofit Organization Provides Children with Chronic and Terminal Illnesses and Families

From Atlanta and Indianapolis Areas to Walt Disney World®


ATLANTA — Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families, is excited to share a BIG announcement! This February, the nonprofit organization will be embarking on its 21st annual all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World®. After careful consideration, the Bert’s Big Adventure selection committee has chosen twelve (12) children and their families from both Georgia and Indiana to be a part of this year’s big trip.


The 2024 Bert’s Big Adventure recipients include:

"We are so excited to be celebrating another year of magic with such wonderful, deserving families,” says Bert’s Big Adventure founder and host of “The Bert Show,” Bert Weiss. “When Bert’s Big Adventure began in 2002, our primary objective was to offer deserving children and their families a respite from medical appointments, hospital visits, and daily challenges by granting them a getaway. Over time, it’s evolved beyond being merely an annual trip; it’s developed into a nationwide support system, providing year-round assistance to nearly 270 amazing Bert’s Big Adventure families.”

To qualify for Bert’s Big Adventure, a child must be between the ages of 5-12 years old and live in “The Bert Show” radio listening area, prove financial need and have never been to Walt Disney World®. To date, Bert’s Big Adventure has served nearly 270 children and their families through its annual journey, Fairy Godparent Volunteer Program and Family Reunion Adventures.
