‘Elsa's ice-based powers and her iconic song "Let It Go" have cemented her status as a beloved character among fans of all ages,’ says Marin.

9. Poison Ivy 

As a classic DC villain, Poison Ivy's alluring visual design, environmentalist themes, and complex moral ambiguity have made her a popular cosplay choice, with 159,086 hashtags. ‘Her status as a powerful female character in a male-dominated genre has also contributed to her appeal,’ notes Marin.

Cosplayers can get creative with green body paint, leaf accessories, and intricate makeup designs to embody the character's botanical theme. 

8. Bakugou 

A character from "My Hero Academia," Bakugou's brash personality, explosive powers, and dynamic relationship with his rival Deku have made him a fan favorite, with 164,448 hashtags. 

Marin says, ‘His complex character arc and growth over the course of the series have resonated with viewers.’

7. Todoroki 

Also a character from the popular anime series "My Hero Academia," Todoroki's appeal likely stems from his complex backstory, unique ice and fire-based powers, and his role as a rival-turned-friend to the protagonist Deku. The depth of his character development and the engaging narrative of the series has contributed to his popularity with Comic Con attendees.

Todoroki's distinctive two-toned hair and scar add character depth, allowing cosplayers to experiment with hair dye and makeup to replicate his look.

6. Deadpool 

The Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool, has amassed 191,330 hashtags, thanks to his irreverent humor, fourth-wall-breaking antics, and the success of his live-action film adaptations.

4. Deku 

Deku is the protagonist of the hit anime series “My Hero Academia.” He has garnered 252,551 hashtags, reflecting the growing popularity of anime and manga at Comic Con. 

‘Deku's inspiring journey of becoming a hero and his relatable struggles have resonated with fans across the globe,’ Marin notes.

3. Joker 

Batman's iconic nemesis, the Joker, has amassed 299,461 hashtags, cementing his status as a Comic Con favorite. 

Marin says, ‘The Joker's unhinged and charismatic nature, coupled with his striking visual design, have made him a perennial cosplay choice for fans.’

Cosplaying the Joker allows for exploration of the character's twisted psyche and chaotic nature, appealing to those who enjoy diving into darker roles.

2. Spider-Man

The web-slinging hero from Marvel has always been a Comic Con staple, and with 698,572 hashtags, he proves his enduring popularity. 

Marin says, ‘Spider-Man's relatable character, dynamic action sequences, and the recent success of the "Spider-Verse" franchise have kept him at the forefront of fan excitement.’

Spider-Man's red and blue suit, complete with web-shooters, is an instantly recognizable and beloved costume in the world of cosplay.

1. Harley Quinn 

With an impressive 723,141 Instagram hashtags, the Clown Princess of Crime from the DC universe has emerged as the undisputed queen of Comic Con. Harley's quirky, rebellious, and unapologetic persona has resonated with fans, especially after her breakout performances in films like "Suicide Squad" and "Birds of Prey."

Marin says: ‘Her unique visual aesthetic and signature red and black outfit have made her a cosplay favorite.’ From her mallet to her baseball bat, Harley's accessories add flair and personality to the cosplay, making for memorable photos and interactions.
