Brunch is getting a bold new flavor in Atlanta with the debut of Tio Lucho’s Sunday brunch. Beginning January 26, 2025, James Beard-nominated chef and owner Arnaldo Castillo invites guests to experience his award-winning take on Peruvian cuisine in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere perfect for weekend gatherings. Offered every Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the menu blends traditional Peruvian flavors with Southern influences, bringing a fresh and inventive twist to the city’s brunch scene.

Known for his creative interpretations of traditional Peruvian flavors, Chef Castillo has crafted a menu that combines coastal ingredients, Southern family recipes, and his Peruvian heritage. Highlights include Roasted Oysters with aji béchamel and Peruvian saltines, the savory Shrimp and Huacho Pork Omelet with melty cheese and chalaca salsa, and the Chicken Biscuit, featuring fried chicken, aji limo pepper jelly, tartar sauce, and hashbrowns. Guests can also enjoy playful dishes like Crawfish Tostones—fried plantains topped with Gulf crawfish, melted cheese, chalaca, and huancaína—or indulgent Pancakes, served as a three-stack with sugarcane syrup and chicha butter. For lighter bites, offerings include Avocado Toast, deviled eggs, and the vibrant Sunday Salad with lima beans, kabocha, corn, goat cheese, and a huacatay-rocoto dressing.

Signature cocktails like the Passionfruit Bellini and Red Snapper—a Peruvian twist on the Bloody Mary—complement the brunch experience. Guests can also savor a variety of refreshing non-alcoholic beverages alongside rich, authentic Peruvian drip coffee.

Located in Atlanta’s Poncey-Highland neighborhood at 675 N. Highland Ave. NE #6000, Atlanta, GA 30306. Tio Lucho’s serves dinner Tuesday through Sunday, lunch Thursday through Saturday, and brunch on Sundays. Tio Lucho’s has become a culinary gem since opening in 2022. Chef Castillo’s creatively authentic menu pays tribute to his roots, combining bold ingredients and modern techniques to deliver an unforgettable dining experience. Excellent breakdown! The move to E-Commerce Solutions is clearly non-negotiable for large-scale personalization, as it decouples the content from the presentation. My main question for the industry right now is around Composability: Are mid-market businesses truly finding it simpler, or is the complexity of managing multiple vendors (CMS, PIM, Search, Cart) just shifting the burden from one monolithic platform to a highly integrated set of APIs? The ROI needs to be clearer for those who aren't Nike or Walmart.

The launch of Tio Lucho’s Sunday brunch is such exciting news for Atlanta food lovers, especially those who enjoy unique culinary mashups. Chef Castillo’s approach in blending Peruvian flavors with Southern classics feels like a real Block Breaker for the city’s brunch scene. It reminds me of how emerging chefs continue to innovate and redefine what traditional brunch can be. I can’t wait to try the Shrimp and Huacho Pork Omelet and those creative cocktails alongside my friends.
