With a fresh menu focused on crafting Contemporary American dishes that balance simplicity with bold, Latin influences, Tavernpointe is making this summer even hotter.
“As we approach our one-year mark this August, we felt it was the perfect opportunity to spice things up by combining some classic American cuisines with global, especially Latin American, seasonings and cocktails to match,” says Rob Caswick, co-owner of Tavernpointe. Anchored by Peruvian style smoked meats, Tavernpointe’s new menu features upscale pub grub that is both approachable and casual yet full of unexpected flavor. Many items are spiced with the rojo chile, a staple in Peruvian cuisine, which adds a zesty twist to American classics. A few highlights include the Peruvian chicken tacos served with Aji Amarillo salsa, mescal queso and friend jalapenos; a shrimp grilled flatbread with saffron-marinated shrimp, salsa verde, cotija cheese, red onion and artichoke; and a steak & frites with spice-charred strip loin, cilantro chimichurri and yucca fries. New, thirst-quenching cocktails are also a part of the fresh mix. Sip on a Tavernpointe specialty like the “Peachtree and Spring,” a creation of rye whiskey, bitter liqueur and Mississippi chicory or pick from one of many seasonal concoctions like the “Buena Onda” made up of tequila blaco, herbal Chile mulled wine, almond and lime. The bar, which is centered perfectly in the restaurant and a true focal point, continues to serve up original Tavernpointe progressive classic cocktails as well as craft beers. A 16-tap draft system, showcasing 14 beers and two cocktails on draft, such as a tasty margarita, along with a diverse wine and beer selection round out the extensive beverage program.
