Guest Rooms Get a $2M Facelift at Lanier Islands’ Legacy Lodge  Flagship Hotel at Southern Lakeside

Buford, Ga. – October 3, 2016 – Overlooking the water at its scenic perch above Lake Lanier, Legacy Lodge at Lanier Islands has become a favorite destination for couples, families, corporate groups and destination wedding parties in the years since its initial and incredible transformation from the former Emerald Pointe Hotel in 2008. By 2014, it had garnered the attention of Southern Living and soon became an esteemed member of the Southern Living Hotel Collection. That same year, the Lodge debuted a stunning $1.4 million conversion of its 77,250-gallon lap pool to a newly rebuilt leisure pool with bench seating all around the pool’s interior, two new 400 BTU pool heaters, salt water chlorination system, and the addition of an additional 3700 square feet of deck space fashioned with beautifully laid tile pavers – providing enough space to seat 200 people on deck. The following year, the hotel’s former Windows Restaurant was reimagined as an elegant farm-to-table concept called Sidney’s – in honor of Sidney Lanier for whom the lake is named. The restaurant now serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and often plays host to special dining events, such as the wildly popular seasonal Seafood Buffet. Today, Lanier Islands is proud to announce that it recently completed a $2M renovation of Legacy Lodge’s guest rooms, suites and corridors.

“Many of our summertime visitors were able to benefit from our recent room renovations as we strategically tackled it in phases so it wouldn’t negatively impact the guest experience,” explained Grier Todd, VP of Hospitality for Lanier Islands. “Now that it’s complete, our guests who come here to witness the beautiful change of seasons at the lake will get to enjoy our new rooms, as well. We’re particularly excited to have the Lodge renovations completed in time for the holidays, which is our second busiest season of the year thanks to our Magical Nights of Lights driving tour and special accommodation packages here at the Lodge such as the Ultimate Santa Package, which includes child-centric additions such as Breakfast with Santa to start the morning and Elf Tuck-ins to end the day. Based on feedback we’ve received to date, the changes have been met with rave reviews.”

This most recent round of renovations at Legacy Lodge comprised each of the 214 guest rooms of the Lodge – which now showcase stylish new hardwood floors, artwork and décor that invokes the sense of the outdoors, crisp white bedding and new Serta pillow top mattresses for the comfort of its guests, and mini refrigerators and Keurig coffee makers for added convenience. Additional upgrades include a fresh coat of paint to the woodwork and ceilings throughout the hotel, new wallcoverings in the guest rooms and corridors, new carpeting in the corridors, stylish new lighting in the sleeping quarters and guest bathrooms, and beautiful custom window treatments over the doors to the private balcony in each of the rooms. Other accommodations at Lanier Islands include the family-friendly Legacy LakeHouses – which underwent their own renovation in 2014 and the luxury, lakeside Legacy Villas – which were newly constructed in 2008. To book reservations and experience the newly renovated rooms at Legacy Lodge firsthand, prospective guests of Lanier Islands are invited to visit www.lanierislands.com or call 770-945-8787.
