Fernbank Museum Becomes Fernbank BOO-Seum for Halloween


Fernbank Museum Hosts Annual Trick-or-Treat Event with Live DJ, Prizes, Games and More

ATLANTA, October 27, 2016— Fernbank Museum will transform into the not-so-spooky Fernbank BOO-seum for its annual Halloween event on Saturday, October 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Costumed guests will follow the screams of delight as they collect candy and toy treats from around the Museum. The event will be a spook-tacular time for the whole family, featuring dancing with family-friendly DJ J&M Sound Design, a costume contest with prizes like Museum membership and tickets to family events around Atlanta, eerie Halloween games and crafts, and access to the “enchanted” woods of WildWoods and Fernbank Forest.

Scheduled Activities*

(All activities are offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. except where otherwise noted.)

Halloween DJ

10am – 2pm

Dance the Monster Mash, groove to ghastly beats, and show your mummy moves as you enjoy the kid-friendly tunes of J&M Sound design.

BOO-Seum Costume Contest

•9am-12:30pm – Costume Contest Registration

•1pm – Costume Contest Winners Announced

Register for the BOO-Seum costume contest to win prizes such as Museum membership and tickets to family events around Atlanta. Prizes awarded for “Best Overall Kid’s Costume” and “Best Family.”

Halloween Treats**

Look for roaming trick-or-treat stations throughout the Museum. Treats vary from candy to small toys. (May contain small parts.)

“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”

Auditorium, showings at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2 pm

Help Charlie Brown and friends welcome the Great Pumpkin in this classic Halloween film.

Ghoulish Games

Try your hand at Halloween games such as Scary Boo-ling, Witch Hat Toss and more to win treats.

Spooky Popsicle Stick Craft

Create mummies and monsters made of popsicle sticks. (This activity involves small parts. Parental supervision required.)

Mystery Boxes

Do you dare? Stick your hand in these creepy boxes to feel unusual items including “spider legs,” “dragon skin,” “monster guts” and “vampire brains.”

Say hello to Fernbank’s mascot, Giggy A. Dinosaur!

Moana and Trolls Trick-or-Treat Bags

Need help toting your goodies? Pick up a trick-or-treat bag in celebration of the new films “Moana” and “Trolls.”

King of Pops***

Available for Purchase on the Terrace

Indulge in an icy treat on the terrace with King of Pops.

Fernbank BOO-Seum Trick or Treat activities are included with Museum admission, which is $18 for adults, $17 for seniors, $16 for children ages 3-12, and free for toddlers and Museum members. *Activities are offered in the Great Hall from 9am to 2pm unless otherwise noted and are subject to change without notice. **Treats available while supplies last. Candy should not be consumed in exhibits, WildWoods or Fernbank Forest.
