HAWKS TIP OFF THE HOLIDAYS WITH GUCCI MANE SHOW AT NOV. 22 GAME VS. PELICANS
The Atlanta Hawks announce their first in-game concert at the club’s Nov. 22 contest against the New Orleans Pelicans, a halftime performance by chart-topping, Atlanta-based hip-hop star Gucci Mane.
“I’ve been ‘True to Atlanta’ and the Hawks for a very long time, so I can’t wait to perform center court in Philips Arena,” said Gucci Mane. “That game is going to be the hottest place in the city on Nov. 22 with me, thousands of hype fans and the Hawks ready to ball out.”
Gucci Mane recently announced a Dec. 16 release for his third album of 2016, “Return of East Atlanta Santa.” Known as “Guwop” by his supporters, Gucci Mane secured his first No. 1 album on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart with August’s “Everybody Looking.” Two months later, the “Icy” rapper returned with “Woptober,” his 29th set to hit the charts, per Billboard Magazine.
Gucci Mane, whose latest single is entitled “Floor Seats,” joins a list of Atlanta-based, internationally-acclaimed artists who have performed at a Hawks home contest since the beginning of the 2014-15 season, including: T.I., Ludacris, Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Cee-Lo, Rich Homie Quan, SilentÓ and Big Boi (with Phantogram to form Big Grams).
A special ticket package is available at hawks.com/gucci, which includes a seat for the game and a $10 food and beverage credit.
