Fernbank Museum of Natural History will host the popular springtime event, Spring EGG-stravaganza, on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests are invited to participate in a twist on the classic egg hunt by collecting treat-filled eggs at spring-themed activity stations inside the Museum. This family event will also feature baby animal encounters, Fernbank’s dinosaur mascot hippity-hopping in his bunny ears, and giant bubbles by the Georgia Bubbleman.
In celebration of the season, Sam’s Path Petting Zoo will be onsite with baby animals including ducklings, piglets, baby goats, a lamb, a Flemish giant rabbit and a muntjac deer.* Guests ages four and up are welcome to touch the animals under parental supervision. Creative youngsters will enjoy a spring-themed craft that allows them to create their own wildflower or butterfly using coffee filters. For those who don’t bring their own egg basket, Fernbank will offer a bag craft station for visitors to tote their goodies with ease. Additionally, Fernbank will host a spring-themed temporary tattoo station.
To keep guests fueled up as they collect their eggs, GoGo squeeZ will offer complimentary applesauce and yogurt packets while supplies last. King of Pops will also have icy treats available for purchase on the Terrace.
The perfect event to kick off or close out spring break for families and children, Fernbank’s Spring EGG-stravaganza will also feature incredible outdoor experiences and opportunities to enjoy the temperate climate and blossoming landscape of spring. On their outside exploration, visitors will discover 10 acres of hands-on exhibitions in WildWoods, 65 acres of serene and winding trails in the old-growth Fernbank Forest and beautiful wildflowers in full bloom. Wildflowers visitors can expect to see include violets, wild geranium, trillium and more.
Fernbank’s Spring EGG-stravaganza is included with museum admission and is free for members. This year’s event does not require timed tickets, but advanced reservations are recommended. All Spring EGG-stravaganza activities are included with Museum admission which is $18 for adults, $17 for seniors, $16 for children ages 3-12 and free for children ages 2 and under and Museum members.
