Nationally Syndicated Morning Radio Show Joins Nonprofit Organization on 16th Annual Magical Journey for Children with Chronic and Terminal Illnesses

On Thursday, February 22nd, The Bert Show kicked off a trip of a lifetime for 13 children and their families in conjunction with Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. Children from Atlanta, Nashville and Indianapolis all participated in this year’s trip with the nonprofit organization and The Bert Show cast including Bert Weiss and Kristin Klingshirn.

Founded by Bert Weiss, Bert’s Big Adventure kicked off its 16th annual trip with a Big Send-Off party where The Bert Show hosted a live broadcast of the show featuring a variety of Disney characters, activities and surprises for the families. Some of the surprises included a fully furnished apartment from Rooms To Go, a treehouse generously donated by Treehouse Experts, and a meet & greet with Adam Anderson, professional monster truck driver, where he presented tickets to an upcoming Monster Jam show for one special family.

After the Big Send-Off celebration, The Bert Show cast members and Bert’s Big Adventure staff and families all boarded a char- tered flight to Walt Disney World, donated by Endeavor Air. Upon arrival, the families checked in to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and then headed to Norway Loft at Epcot where they were greeted by some very special guests.

The entire five-day journey was filled with smiles as the families experienced the VIP treatment including princess/pirate makeovers, all access passes to the Disney parks and rides, a surprise dance party with their favorite Disney characters, front-row access to fireworks, and much more.

“For many of these families, this is their first time on a flight or even taking a vacation together,” says host of The Bert Show and co-founder of Bert’s Big Adventure, Bert Weiss. “We really love that we can make their days a little brighter and help create lasting relationships among the families.”
