(September 11, 2019) Jeffersonville, IN – PetFirst Pet Insurance is celebrating 15 years in business by providing dog treats to sheltered animals in 15 cities.
At an anniversary celebration on Tuesday afternoon, PetFirst employees packaged up the 15,000 treats to be shipped to dogs searching for homes around the country.
“Our company has always been about the welfare of pets,” said CEO Katie Blakeley. “We were founded 15 years ago with a simple goal: We wanted families to be able to make the best medical choices they could for their four-legged family members, without worrying about the cost. So, it’s only fitting that we celebrate our anniversary by bringing some treats to dogs as they wait for their new homes.”
The shelters include:
Atlanta Humane Society
Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region
Animal Humane Society
Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League
San Diego Humane Society
Kentucky Humane Society
Michigan Humane Society
Woods Humane Society
Humane Society of Oldham County
Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando (FL)
Bideawee
Lexington Humane Society
New Albany Floyd County Animal Control & Shelter
Humane Society of Utah
Dumb Friends League
“We were very low on treats for our shelter dogs, so this donation from PetFirst Pet Insurance came at the perfect time!" said Karen Koenig, Vice President of Animal Welfare at the Kentucky Humane Society. “We are happy to help our dogs celebrate PetFirst's anniversary with these treats.”
