D.A.T.E. Hosts Their First-Ever Welcome Back Drive-Thru

DeKalb Agriculture Technology & Environment (D.A.T.E.) kicked off the 2020-2021 school year in a special way! On Monday, August 17th, D.A.T.E charter school in Stone Mountain hosted their first-ever Welcome Back Drive-Thru, celebrating the start of virtual learning and the new school year.

In lieu of their traditional back-to-school pep rally every year, elementary and middle school students and their families were invited to drive through the school grounds where the students were greeted by their new teachers and administrators from a distance. D.A.T.E staff staggered along the drive-thru route and got families excited to start the new year with lots of waves, music and decorations. Families were also encouraged to decorate their cars and make signs for the big day.
