Barbie vs. Oppenheimer: See Which Film Your State is Seeing First

This Friday, Americans have an important choice to make at the box office: to see Barbie or Oppenheimer first in theaters. While we’ll have to wait and see which movie will win at the box office, a new study reveals which of the two movies each state is most excited to see!

By analyzing Google search volume, the study found Barbie earns a razor thin margin of victory with 27 states choosing Greta Gerwig’s pink vision compared to 23 states excited to see Christopher Nolan’s next blockbuster.

While the two movies couldn’t be more different, the analysis also shows defining regional trends. In the Northeast, Oppenheimer overwhelmingly takes the lead, but the South and West Coast side with Barbie. But, Midwesterners are split between Barbie and Oppenheimer.
