Celebrate National Hot Dog Day with Red's Beer Garden

Hot diggity dog! Nothing screams summer quite like a hot dog. National Hot Dog Day is on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, and Red’s Beer Garden, nestled between Grant Park and East Atlanta in Benteen Park, is just the place to celebrate. Whether ordering in or to-go, the local favorite offers a variety of specialty dogs or guests can build their own with a range of toppings from ketchup, mustard, mayo and relish to pimento cheese, avocado spread, fig jam, and chopped bacon.

Owned and operated by Kristen “Red” Sumpter and her husband Ed Sumpter, guests can pair their dogs with a cold brew, cider, hard seltzer, wine and more from their self-serve coolers boasting approximately 300 rotating offerings. Plus, customers that wear hot dog socks, a hot dog shirt, or any other hot dog item will receive $1 off draft beer all day long in honor of this national holiday. Below are just a few of the fan favorites at Red’s that can be enjoyed on National Hot Dog Day or Tuesdays through Sundays throughout the year. Fan Favorites at Red’s Beer Garden 1. It doesn’t get any more Red's than with Red’s Favorite. Named after the owner, Kristen aka ‘Red’ Sumpter, this classic dog is topped with house-made pimento cheese, fig jam, and bacon. 2. Add a kick to your day with a hot dog with some spice. The Franks on Franks isn’t messing around with it’s combination of hot dog, Franks hot sauce, pickled jalepeños, mayo, and cheese. Those taste buds will be tingling. 3. Looking for a good time? Get your hands on The Reebs. This fun frank comes with fig jam, cheese, and sautéed onions. Yum! 4. Everybody knows that all dogs go to heaven, but this one especially gets a first-class ticket. Meet the Slaw Dogs Go to Heaven. This “heavenly” combination consists of house-made slaw and chunky chili. 5. Das Dog, Red’s version of a classic pairing, is even more mouthwatering than expected. In between the tasty buns are perfectly partnered toppings: sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard.
