Decatur native provides medical readiness from U.S. Navy
LEMOORE, Calif. – Lt. Ebony Jakes, a native of Decatur, Georgia, provides beneficiary care and expeditionary medical readiness while serving with Expeditionary Medical Facility Bravo Detachment San Diego at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore.
Jakes joined the Navy 15 years ago. Today, Jakes serves as a labor and delivery nurse.
“I joined the Navy because I didn't want to pay for school anymore,” said Jakes. “Also, my fear of war became less scary than my financial security.”
