#1 Vanderpump Rules

Starting as a spin-off show from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills back in 2013, Vanderpump Rules is now 11 seasons in, with the latest airing in January 2024 and with 6,737 average monthly searches across the state. The show follows original Real Housewives cast member Lisa Vanderpump and the staff at her various restaurants across Western California. The show has been so successful that it now has two spin offs of its own: Vanderpump Rules After Show and Vanderpump Rules: Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky.

#2 Pawn Stars

Set in Las Vegas, Pawn Stars follows the daily activities at the world famous Gold & Silver Pawn shop. First airing in 2009, the series has proved an international hit, spawning Australian and UK versions. It has an average monthly search volume of 4,843 . The idea for the series was conceived when two members of the show’s production company were walking through Las Vegas and were struck by the array of eccentric pawn shops on a weekend trip to the city.

#3 Jersey Shore

Although it's now over a decade since the show finished, Jersey Shores’ popularity showed no signs of slowing down with 4,115 searches on average per month. It documented the lives of eight housemates at a vacation home in Seaside Heights on the Jersey Shore during most of its run, while sometimes relocating to Florida and Florence. The series was a trailblazer for reality TV shows, causing much controversy and even sparking academic institutions to hold classes discussing its societal impact.

#4 Impractical Jokers

With 3,238 average monthly searches, Impractical Jokers continues to be a popular choice, and fans of the show are anticipating the new season which will air early this year. The long running show stars four real life friends and former high school classmates as they compete in a series of dares, after which they vote on whether each ‘joker’ passed or not.

#5 Judge Judy

The long-running reality show ran for 25 seasons between 1996 and 2021 with its popularity showing no signs of slowing down, despite being off the air for three years, as Judge Judy has recorded 2,897 monthly searches on average. CBS regularly shows reruns of series that still generate high ratings and during its original run, it won three Emmy awards and earned its star (Judith Sheindlin) recognition from Guinness World Records for being the longest serving television arbitrator.

Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson for CasinoAlpha said: "Reality TV is now served to us in various formats, covering almost every topic imaginable, so it's interesting to see such a diverse range of shows ranking at the top of the list. However, the results certainly reflect that audiences still have an appetite for more 'traditional' reality shows with many still ranking highly, despite no longer being on the air in some cases."
