Viva Tequila Festival Postpones this Year’s Edition of Festival

Sept. 10, 2020 - Atlanta - The Viva Tequila Festival, Atlanta’s only celebration of Mexico’s Spirit, will not take place this year as scheduled. The event was scheduled for Oct. 17, but has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date. Festival producers have been tracking local, national and international health authorities and governments and are following their recommendations to make the decision about this year’s festival. “Viva Tequila Festival is a celebration of life, of our people, of our culture as Atlantans,” said Juan Bonilla, CEO of Viva Tequila Festival. “Our commitment is to provide an event that meets the highest level of health and safety for all who take part in our event, and of all members of our community. At this time, this cannot be possible. We looked at multiple options for this year’s festival but, in the end, we feel we have made the best decision for this time.” In the meantime, Viva Tequila Festival will continue to promote all things Tequila via Virtual classes with the first taking place on October 2nd. Participants should pre-order the event kit, which will be mailed directly to their homes, at VivaTequilaFestival.com. The kit will include samples of five different Tequilas from at least two regions of Mexico. Mr. Tequila will host the event, conducting the virtual Tequila tasting and offering his own knowledge, as well as some fun facts, on the process of making Tequila. “As we all adapt to the new normal, we continue to monitor recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control regarding events and festivals, along with instructions from local authorities and our partners, to determine potential new dates for the third edition of Viva Tequila Festival. “ Our commitment to and support of our festival partners — as well as to our end objective, to promote the Mexican Spirit of Tequila — we will continue to share information and details of future events through the Festival’s website, newsletter and social platforms. Festival patrons and the local community is invited to continue supporting the restaurant and bar industry by visiting their establishments or ordering pick-up service. By taking part in virtual crawls being offered by restaurants or buy gift cards to future visits. “Please support small businesses and we look forward to confirming new dates for the 3rd Edition of the Viva Tequila Festival. “
