ATLANTA MOON RIDE PRESENTED BY CAPTECH POSTPONED TO FRIDAY, JUNE 21
Seventh Annual Evening Bike Ride Postponed Due to Extreme Weather Advisory
ATLANTA (JUNE 5, 2019) - Due to inclement weather as well as the safety of attendees and staff, Atlanta Moon Ride scheduled to be held on Friday, June 7th, starting at 7 p.m. at Piedmont Park has been postponed and rescheduled for Friday, June 21st. After monitoring the unwavering forecast closely, a joint decision has been made by the Atlanta Moon Ride team and city officials that it is in the best interest of the community to postpone and reschedule the event for Friday, June 21st. While the team is prepared for rain and wind, the persistent reports of lightening and thunderstorms has put a halt to all outdoor activities in the area.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we have to ensure that our riders and our vendors can come enjoy the night in a safe environment. The safety of our Atlanta Moon Ride community comes first,” says Founder of Atlanta Moon Ride, Joel Darby. “We truly appreciate everyone's understanding and willingness, and we look forward to seeing all of you on Friday, June 21st. We’ll make sure it’s the best one yet!”
As this is a fundraising event, tickets that have been sold are non-refundable but will be honored for the event being held on Friday, June 21st.
All proceeds raised for this year’s ride will still go to support the work of local charity, Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. Since 2013, Atlanta Moon Ride has raised over $250,000 for this wonderful cause.
